EDUCATION IN UGANDA
Freedom in Creation (FIC) invests in community-based education subsidies in the Gulu District of Northern Uganda. Partnering with the District Education Office, local schools, churches, and institutions, FIC strategizes with local leaders to uphold educational goals. Examples of such investments include a recent effort to improve academic standards with a shipment of donated books. This endeavor—a partnership with Third World Books, the English-Speaking Union (ESU), The Jesuits of Cleveland, OH, and the Sports Outreach Institute (SOI)—benefitted the following organizations with 17,000 books: the Gulu Public Library, Brozy Nursery School, Koro Abili Primary School, Koro Abili Secondary School, and the Church of Uganda Koro Abili Parish. Currently, FIC is helping to develop the Koro Abili Public Library and computer resource center.
